The Balvenie DCS Chapter Five Single Malt Whisky Set

Today, The Balvenie single malt Scotch whisky unveils the final chapter in The Balvenie DCS Compendium Chapter Five, titled ‘Malt Master’s Indulgence’. The eagerly anticipated release is the last of the coveted Compendium series and is comprised of five unique and rare vintages carefully selected by Malt Master David C.Stewart MBE for their significance to his career.

As the longest-serving Malt Master, with 60 years’ experience in the whisky industry, David’s selection of liquids for Chapter Five is a nod to his greatest indulgence – having the freedom to earmark casks simply because they have the potential to be spectacular, holding on to them, and watching them mature into beautiful liquid. Without David’s withstanding determination, patience and skill, these liquids would have never seen the light of day, and each expression in this final chapter represents this unbridled experimentation.

Each set has an individual number engraved on the frame, showing it is one of just 50 sets available worldwide

【The Balvenie 1962 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml】
• Aroma: Fragrant and fruity with honey marmalade, brown sugar, vanilla toffee ending on a delicate spiciness.
• Palate: Rich and velvety with toffee honeycomb, creamy vanilla, candied orange peel and notes of ginger.
• Alcohol Content: 42.1%

【The Balvenie 1974 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml】
• Aroma: Luscious malty notes with honey, orange peel and maple syrup balancing the gentle oak spices
• Palate: Sweetness followed by citrus notes, balanced by honey and vanilla toffee, finishing on cinnamon and ginger spices.
• Alcohol Content: 51.3%

【The Balvenie 1983 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml】
• Aroma: Malty, brown sugar, vanilla butterscotch, tangy orange peel ending with notes of blossom honey.
• Palate: Candied orange and lemon peel, heather honey, oak vanilla, maple syrup ending with ground ginger.
• Alcohol Content: 42%

【The Balvenie 2001 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml】
• Aroma: Orchard fruits, stewed plums and dried apricots, silky honey, toffee with an oaky spiciness.
• Palate: Orange, salted caramel, grapefruit balanced by spiced apple, pineapple and mango, ending in a toffee sweetness.
• Alcohol Content: 63.5%

【The Balvenie 2002 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml】
• Aroma: Opens on gentle sweet peat balancing lemon zestiness.Followed by vanilla, honey and spices.
• Palate: Light smokiness followed by toffee, oak vanilla, blossom honey, tangy sweetness, ginger and cinnamon spiciness.
• Alcohol Content: 53.9%
