The year 2014 was characterized by an exceptional growing cycle in the Sonoma region, with optimal early flowering followed by a beautiful veraison. Sunny weather without extreme heat favored the perfect maturation of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the longer maturation of the Cabernet Sauvignon having produced fruity expressions matched with elegant and spicy tannins. The Sonoma terroir is for me one of the best in the world for Bordeaux blends; it has a complex topography, very diverse soils and an exceptional climate. All these elements are enhanced by the influence of the Pacific Ocean, whose refreshing sea breezes regulate the temperature every evening. The harvest took place from September 3 to 20.
